Fission dynamics, dissipation, and clustering at finite temperature

چکیده
The saddle-to-scission dynamics of the induced fission process is explored using a microscopic finite-temperature model based on time-dependent nuclear density functional theory (TDDFT), that allows one to follow evolution local temperature along trajectories. Starting from corresponds experimental excitation energy compound system, propagates nucleons isentropic paths toward scission. For four illustrative cases $^{240}\mathrm{Pu}, ^{234}\mathrm{U}, ^{244}\mathrm{Cm}$, and $^{250}\mathrm{Cf}$, characteristic trajectories are considered, partition total into various kinetic potential contributions at scission analyzed, with special emphasis dissipated path prescission energy. also applied neck formation rupture, characterized by few-nucleon clusters in low-density region between nascent fragments.

Time scales for fission at finite temperature
The concept of the ”transient effect” is examined in respect of a ”mean first passage time”. It is demonstrated that the time the fissioning system stays inside the barrier is much larger than suggested by the transient time, and that no enhancement of emission of neutrons over that given by Kramers’ rate formula ought to be considered.
متن کاملFluctuation-dissipation theorem and quantum tunneling with dissipation at finite temperature
A reformulation of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem of Callen and Welton is presented in such a manner that the basic idea of Feynman-Vernon and Caldeira -Leggett of using an infinite number of oscillators to simulate the dissipative medium is realized manifestly without actually introducing oscillators. If one assumes the existence of a well defined dissipative coefficient R(ω) which little...
متن کاملBubble Wall Dynamics at Finite Temperature {
Cosmological phase transitions may have played important roles in shaping the present Universe. If the transition is of the rst order, it proceeds with the nucleation of new-phase bubbles and their growth. The details of the bubble dynamics can aaect the consequencies of the phase transition. For example, baryogenesis in the course of the electroweak phase transition is known to depend on the b...
متن کاملContrasting real-time dynamics with screening phenomena at finite temperature.
We discuss the interpretation of Euclidean correlation functions at finite temperature (T ) and their relationship with the corresponding real-time Green’s functions. The soluble 2+1 dimensional Gross-Neveu model in the large-N limit is used throughout as a working example. First, the real-time bound state, identified as an elementary excitation at finite T , is solved. The bound state mass, th...
متن کاملMultiscale modeling of the dynamics of solids at finite temperature
We develop a general multiscale method for coupling atomistic and continuum simulations using the framework of the heterogeneous multiscale method (HMM). Both the atomistic and the continuum models are formulated in the form of conservation laws of mass, momentum and energy. A macroscale solver, here the finite volume scheme, is used everywhere on a macrogrid; whenever necessary the macroscale ...
